Both Jai and Haley are very passionate about teaching this program. There is alot of helpful information in the form of a workbook and videos. Even though some of the information is several years old (like statistics) you are able to understand how serious drinking/ drug use and driving can effect your life and all the people around you. The program helps you to understand why you might relapse and ways to prevent future incidents.

Wasn't looking forward to the class, but with that said I was pleasantly surprised. I actually enjoyed the class and found it to be very informative. Our instructor John was very informative and did an outstanding job making everyone feel comfortable. There was no one from instructor or classmates looking down or talking down to anyone. Thank you John and I don't want to forget to thank Lori for walking us through this process and always being there for us.

I took both the Drug offender program and the alcohol one for probation requirements and both instructors were really informative. John is an amazing guy with a sense of humor who also cares a lot about his class. Haley is also a very good instructor and her backstory being a former drug user makes the class more personal because she genuinely cares about helping people. I recommend the Alamo center for these classes because they’re informative, quick, and you can learn from the comfort of your own home. Thank you both 🙂

I believe this is a great stepping stone for many people on the effects of drug and alcohol use that many may not have considered. The information could be updated as it is from 2011. Despite this, the overall presentation was very informative and helpful in giving some background to laws, regulations, and the actual affects drug and alcohol abuse has had on individuals in the class.

Highly recommend getting the exhibit ticket pass to see the memorabilia from the war. I was very impressed with their collection. Truly inspiring to go to and a good reminder of the Texan/American spirit. Went on a weekday around 3:00 pm, bought ticket at the gate, and was not crowded. Recommend about 1.5 hours there if you want to get the most out of history and the museum

Never forget? More like never remember 😂
The history here is a joke. A really stupid battle that Texans love. Early Americans fought Mexicans to take over and steal their fort. And then were shocked pikachu when Mexico showed up with 2,000 troops and annihilated the 200 US soldiers there. 😲😱😭🙄

Classic early American history of us trying to steal land and being indignant when it gets taken back. Tale as old as time. Skip this laughable pile of rocks and check out the free riverwalk nearby.

Tbh you can just walk right through it without paying, which is what I recommend doing because it is in no way worth $20+

Having being a former Ranger here, this place is shady and always has been. I can see why they’re bringing in State Troopers but that also results in a questionable outcome for the Rangers currently. The last chief, Mr.Withers was said to be a failed project along with other rangers because the transition from security to law enforcement ultimately failed. The current chief, Gerald Ramirez and the Director of the Alamo, Kate Rogers have also not indicted nor communicated to these Rangers of what their future will be. On this very day August 2nd, 2025, I believe these Rangers will be let go and replaced with TX DPS by the end of this month. I wish these troopers the best of luck in dealing with the follow horrific acts just like I have once witnessed. These acts include public urination, threats from individuals to urinate on the cenotaph or the shrine itself, threats to cross the chain and touch the Alamo, climbers who appear to be heavily intoxicated, individuals who don’t even respect the rules by continuously riding their bike/skateboard through the plaza, and most importantly a terrible leadership from within. I hope this is seen as a lesson to the state because the Alamo security operations have changed continuously from the Daughters of the Republic, General Land Office, Alamo Trust Inc, and now State Troopers. I wish the state would stop ruining the lives and imposing stressors of these rangers who worked so hard to keep a beautifully preserved piece of history protected.

Wanna start by saying Texas is definitely overrated as a state. The only thing bigger in Texas is the letdown. Now the Alamo was pretty cool. Price of admission free. Love it would go again. The only thing I had to pay for was parking. They did offer a pay for tour there, but I wasn’t into that would definitely have loved it a little bit more if I hadn’t gone in July, the heat was pretty brutal for a big man although they did have fans and there was some shade.

Its a must see if you're ever in St.Antonio, TX; but please don't touch the walls in the exhibit rooms bcuz it help to deteriorate the original
material that they are made of and the oil from hands leave a stain behind that discolor the original setting...enjoy

The Alamo itself and the historical interpretation from staff at this site were both underwhelming. You walk up from the Riverwalk and don't spot it at first amid a vibrant city that towers over the building. Staff and guides at times created an atmosphere that felt more cult-like than historical. The Spanish missions outside San Antonio are more varied and interesting to visit for Texas history, as are Washington-on-the-Brazos or San Jacinto. In short, I wouldn't make the Alamo the main focus of a trip. Come to Texas in spring, explore the Hill Country along with San Antonio, and end your travels with the sites of East Texas. You'll see the beauty of the land and still explore the history!

Visiting the Alamo was on my bucket list. The area is open & easily accessible. There are plenty of employees to assist you whenever you have questions. The area is clean, well kept, and true to its historical significance. I highly recommend doing the audio self-guided tour as well as the immersive tablet guided tour for an extra $5. Wear comfortable shoes, and plan on being there over two hours. There's a gift shop that sells water, clothing, snacks, & memorabilia.

Lots of it was covered for construction, I had hard time to oriented myself. I had to go to online website to actually understand where certain events took place. This place are only small remains of such a great historical site. And of course there is overpriced gift shop and insane parking prices. Never mind all that, I still think this is a must for every American patriot. It gave me chills …

A nice historic place. Overall it's a relatively small place. Entrance could be a tricky to find because of construction road blocks. Probably takes you 2 hours to complete it. Entrance is free where you can view from outside, but inside view is paid tour. The area nearby is also nice to explore with some shops and stuff.

Beware that there is no parking nearby. Its very costly to park in this area (from $5 per hour upto $20 minimum). There are also some sketchy parking areas where apparently they tow your car even if you pay for it (heard from someone).

My wife took me this place and I had no idea until we got here and learned about the history in this place! It’s not too much to say that this place is the reason Texas became independent from Mexico 🇲🇽 pretty cool to learn some in depth history of San Antonio and Texas!

Also I like the fact that this area is very nice for short walk off the river walk sections!

If you are around here, visiting here is recommended!

The Alamo is a powerful reminder of Texas's fight for independence and a must-visit for anyone interested in history. This iconic mission, originally built in the 1700s, became the site of a pivotal battle in 1836, where a small group of Texan defenders held out against a much larger Mexican army. While the outcome was tragic, the Alamo's legacy as a symbol of courage and sacrifice continues to resonate today.

Visiting the Alamo is a moving experience. The restored mission grounds provide a glimpse into the past, with exhibits showcasing artifacts and stories of the brave men and women who fought for Texas's freedom. The Alamo's history is a complex one, and it's important to approach the site with an understanding of the different perspectives involved. By exploring the Alamo, visitors can gain a deeper appreciation for Texas's rich history and the ongoing conversations surrounding its legacy.

The Alamo is such an incredible place to visit! Walking onto the grounds, you can just feel the history. It’s amazing to think about everything that happened here and how much effort has gone into preserving it. There’s so much to see and learn, and the displays do a great job of breaking it all down in a way that’s easy to understand but still super interesting.

One of my favorite parts was checking out The Nave—the main hall of the church. They’ve got details about the building’s history, like the notches left by the U.S. Army and even some graffiti they discovered from the 1850s. It’s wild to think how this place has been used for so many purposes over time. And The Sacristy was another highlight, especially seeing the old mission-era frescos uncovered by preservationists. The designs and colors give you a glimpse of what it must’ve looked like back in the day.

Outside, there’s a cool model of the original mission that really puts into perspective how massive this place used to be. It’s crazy to think about how it survived everything from Apache raids to floods and eventually became a battleground. The whole site is so well-maintained, and you can tell a lot of care has gone into keeping its story alive.

Overall, it’s an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re a history buff or just someone curious about Texas’ past, The Alamo is a must-visit. It’s informative, inspiring, and just a really cool place to spend a couple of hours. Definitely 5 stars!

Have been in Texas for two years and wanted to visit, and today was the day. I truly enjoyed this.

When we got there, they were running an enactment of the battle, and what we saw was pretty cool.

They offer a variety of ticket options for whatever you choose to do, or you can just walk around outside and look at all the different things they have there.

The gift shop is huge and has a lot to offer. We looked at everything, but even though it's for a good cause, $35 for a t-shirt was a bit much.

This is a great time plan on spending at least an hour looking at everything and watching movies.

The architecture around is also with looking at. Some beautiful buildings.
